Final inspection at a newly finished home in Tennessee

Protect Your New Home at
Every Critical Step

Building a home is one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make-but even new construction can have serious defects if each phase isn’t properly inspected. At Ultra Home Inspections, we offer Construction Phase Inspections to help catch problems early, when they’re easier (and cheaper) to fix. Whether you’re managing the build yourself or relying on a builder, we’re your extra set of experienced eyes on-site. Our phase inspections include pre-footer, pre-slab, pre-siding, and pre-drywall, followed by a complete final home inspection once construction is finished.

Why Phase Inspections Matter

Every step of the construction process hides important components that will soon be covered up-possibly forever. Without proper inspection at each phase, critical defects may go unnoticed until they cause structural issues, moisture problems, or safety concerns years later. We’re here to help you prevent that. Our phase inspections give you confidence that the home is being built the right way-at the right time.

What We Inspect at Each Phase:

  • 1. Pre-Footer Inspection

Before concrete is poured for the foundation footings, we check:

    • Proper trenching and form setup
    • Soil conditions and compaction
    • Rebar placement and footer depth
    • Water drainage and moisture concerns
  • 2. Pre-Slab Inspection

Once the foundation plumbing is in and before the slab is poured, we examine:

    • Vapor barriers and reinforcement
    • Plumbing placement and protection
    • Electrical conduit positioning (if applicable)
    • Site grading and slope around the build
  • 3. Pre-Siding Inspection

Before siding is installed, we evaluate:

    • Weather-resistant barriers (house wrap)
    • Window and door flashing
    • Wall sheathing condition
    • Moisture control systems
  • 4. Pre-Drywall Inspection

Before insulation and drywall go up, we review:

    • Framing quality and spacing
    • Plumbing and electrical rough-ins
    • HVAC duct placement
    • Fire blocking and draft stopping
    • Window/door installs and header support
  • 5. Final Inspection

After construction is complete, we conduct a comprehensive full home inspection just like we would for any homebuyer-covering all major systems, safety items, and finish quality.
